The 12th of Rabiʿ al-awwal is widely kept as the Prophet’s birthday. Some communities recite poetry and feed neighbours; others treat it as any other day. Either way, the point is his character — not a cake.
In Turkey, Mawlid an-Nabi in 2028 is expected on Thursday, 3 August 2028 (12 Rabiʿ al-awwal 1450). This uses the Umm al-Qura calculation. Moon sighting can shift a day — follow Diyanet and your local mosque.
The Islamic calendar (Hijri, Arabic lunar calendar) follows the moon; the Gregorian year follows the sun. It starts from the Hijrah. A month opens when the new crescent is sighted. Dates on this 2028 grid are estimates — moon sighting can move a day.

Four months are sacred: Dhul-Qaʿdah, Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram in a row, then Rajab. They are named in Bukhari (3197). The old rule was to halt war; today they are still marked for worship and travel.
